We are so excited here at Biltong Boss, and we just can’t hide it! There’s a song in there somewhere.

We are thrilled to announce that four of our Biltong Boss meat snacks have received prestigious accolades at the recent Great Taste Awards! This recognition is a testament to our dedication to quality and excellence. The judges praised our products for their exceptional flavour and craftsmanship, highlighting the meticulous care and passion that goes into every batch of your favourite meat snack. Biltong Boss winning these awards not only underscores our commitment to excellence but also inspires us to continue creating outstanding products for you, our valued customers.  Could we be the best biltong in the UK?

 

OUR AWARDS

 

Truffle Boss Beef Biltong was awarded two stars. It was described as succulent slivers of beef with an authentic aroma of truffle that allows the meat to come through, with great texture and balanced flavours that make for a delicious snack. A great product!

Chilli Beef Boss Biltong Great Taste Two Stars

Chilli Beef Boss Biltong also received two stars. Described as glistening slivers of biltong with an inviting aroma. The texture is moist and friable, releasing a good level of acetic tang, gentle salinity, and subtle but warming chilli.

Original Boss Beef Biltong Great Taste One Star

Original Boss Beef Biltong received one star. Described as having an umami beefy flavour in the rich, deep, and slightly marbled slices of beef. It is a great example of biltong, which is all too rare among the commercial versions available.

Sweet Hot Beef Jerky also received one star for its sweetness on the nose that carries onto the palate before you get the lovely peppery heat. Very moreish!!! Could have eaten it all.

This brings our total Great Taste Awards since our inception in 2020 to 14, including three two-star awards and three World Charcuterie Awards—two silvers and one bronze—in 2023.

 

ABOUT THE AWARDS

Great Taste, run by The Guild of Fine Food, is the largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for food and drink producers across the world. A producer like us could win a one-star, two-star, or even the coveted three-star award. The one-star means the product is simply delicious. Two-stars signify outstanding or above and beyond delicious, and only about 10% of entrants achieve this rating, so for us to have received two this year is incredibly satisfying. A three-star award means the product you are enjoying is just exquisite. We have yet to receive a three-star, but there’s always next year.

Of course, we would love to congratulate all the other winners across the categories. This recognition means that all those late nights, early mornings, blood, sweat, and tears are completely worth it.
